Ghost Biographer uses SMS only for transactional account messages
— sign-in codes, password and authentication resets, and
account-status alerts. SMS is opt-in only; we will never send you a
text message until you have explicitly subscribed via one of the two
methods below.
How to opt in
Opt in during account creation
When you create your Ghost Biographer account at
ghostbiographer.com/register,
the registration form includes an optional mobile-phone field and
a clearly-labelled consent checkbox. The checkbox is not
pre-ticked — you must affirmatively tick it to opt in.
The exact text shown beside the consent checkbox is:
“Send me Ghost Biographer transactional account messages by SMS
at the number above. Up to 8 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply
STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
The same toggle is available at any time inside Account Settings,
where you can opt in, opt out, or change the phone number on file.
Decliners still complete account creation and receive notifications
by email instead.

During the closed beta
What kinds of messages we send
During the closed beta, SMS is used only for the
following transactional purposes:
- Two-factor authentication codes, when you have selected SMS as your sign-in authenticator.
- Password and authenticator reset links, when you request them through the application.
- Security alerts, such as confirmation of a new sign-in from an unfamiliar device.
- Account-status notifications, such as confirmation that your beta-tester agreement has been signed.
We do not send marketing or promotional SMS during the beta. If
and when our SMS scope expands — for example, to include
optional periodic check-in messages from your AI biographer
— we will give you the opportunity to consent to that
additional category specifically before it begins.
