How to opt in to text-message notifications for your Ghost Biographer account — and how to opt out at any time.
Ghost Biographer uses SMS only for transactional account messages — sign-in codes, password and authentication resets, and account-status alerts. SMS is opt-in only; we will never send you a text message until you have explicitly subscribed via one of the two methods below.
When you create your Ghost Biographer account at ghostbiographer.com/register, the registration form includes an optional mobile-phone field and a clearly-labelled consent checkbox. The checkbox is not pre-ticked — you must affirmatively tick it to opt in.

The same toggle is available at any time inside Account Settings, where you can opt in, opt out, or change the phone number on file. Decliners still complete account creation and receive notifications by email instead.
If you already have a Ghost Biographer account and want to enable SMS without going through Account Settings, text the keyword START from your mobile phone to our toll-free number:
Your phone number must already be on file with your Ghost Biographer account. We confirm receipt with a return text and add you to our SMS list. This method is provided as a convenience for users who prefer text-message control over web-based settings.
During the closed beta, SMS is used only for the following transactional purposes:
We do not send marketing or promotional SMS during the beta. If and when our SMS scope expands — for example, to include optional periodic check-in messages from your AI biographer — we will give you the opportunity to consent to that additional category specifically before it begins.
